CHICAGO — Who could’ve seen this coming?

Was this a “vintage” performance for Bears quarterback Case Keenum? Or perhaps the rebirth for the 38-year-old quarterback, whom coach Ben Johnson pulled out of retirement to serve as a third-stringer two years ago.

Keenum finished 24-for-34 passing for 247 yards. He added eight yards on two carries, including a one-yard sneak for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Receiver Kalif Raymond led the Bears with 90 yards on six receptions.

What can’t be lost in the shuffle of Keenum’s heroics? The Bears’ defense forced three takeaways, including Dillon Thieneman’s first career interception on Eagles backup quarterback Andy Dalton’s lone passing attempt on Monday night.

Adam Hoge: What a response by Ben Johnson, who evidently has Vic Fangio’s number. Playing Case Keenum — despite Tyson Bagent being cleared — was an indication that Johnson felt really good about his game plan with Keenum, and wow, did they both deliver. And shoutout to the defense, which played really well for the second week in a row. Dennis Allen called an outstanding game too.

But I did believe that Case Keenum would play well in Ben Johnson’s offense. Why? Because he was darn good in training camp for two consecutive years. His experience matters, too. The Bears were efficient and explosive on the same night. Why? Because of Case Keenum.

That’s an excellent effort and then some from every phase for the Bears. Offense protected the ball and the lead while the defense held up several times. Game ball to Case Keenum.

Mark Carman: What a performance by Ben Johnson, Case Keenum and the Chicago Bears defense. The Bears tried to shoot themselves in the foot a couple of times, but the defense stood tall. Interceptions from Dillon Thieneman and T.J. Edwards were big. Austin Booker hitting Jalen Hurts seemed to affect him. Case Keenum had a night he will never forget. Very fitting for the 38-year-old class act who has been a great asset for Caleb Williams and the QB room.
