When I asked Bears running backs coach Chad Morton how much he runs during a practice, he laughed and said:
“Probably not enough, I could afford to lose a few more pounds.”
You wouldn’t know it if you looked at him though. Morton, the 5-8 former running back from USC who was drafted in the fifth round by the Saints in 2000, has been one of the more noticeable characters on the practice field throughout training camp. In his first year as Bears running backs coach, Morton came over from Seattle with new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron.
