I expected some fireworks with the pads going on Friday, but I didn’t necessarily expect the quarterback to be right in the middle of it.
Matt Eberflus allowed Friday’s first padded practice to be pretty physical, as we saw many plays end with players on the ground. But one of those plays led to defensive end DeMarcus Walker — frequently in the middle of dustups — getting into it with tight end Gerald Everett. That’s when Caleb Williams suddenly emerged— jumping in between both players and grabbing/escorting Walker away from his tight end.
