Bears vs. Jaguars predictions: Can Caleb Williams, offense keep momentum rolling across the pond?

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams

DJ Moore said after the Bears’ tight Week 1 win against the Titans that making corrections is always easier after a win. Why? Because nobody’s angry.

It’s probably been a happy couple of weeks around Halas Hall, and now, Hanbury Manor in Ware. It appears there’s been plenty of learning, too. After dismantling the Carolina Panthers, 36-10, only the Jacksonville Jaguars stand in the Bears’ way of a 4-2 start heading into the bye.

Caleb Williams is getting better every week and even earned the adjective “bossy” from Moore. That’s a compliment from the receiver. It’s the quarterback’s job to be in command.

Jaquan Brisker’s absence is an unfortunate loss – avoidable, too. Brisker stayed back in the United States after suffering a concussion from helmet-to-helmet contact initiated by an offensive player. Wasn’t the safety’s fault, but he’s suffering the consequences.

Bill Murray hasn’t been this important to a plot in London since The Man Who Knew Too Little. With Teven Jenkins’ status unknown for Sunday, Murray is the likely candidate to fill in on the line.

Can Chicago continue its impressive growth on offense? Can the Bears’ secondary stop Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas Jr. without Brisker and possibly Tyrique Stevenson? Will we have to hear Carm’s English accent ever again after CHGO returns from London?

Onto Week 6.

Adam Hoge (3-2) | Bears 27, Jaguars 20

I love the direction the Bears are headed offensively, as Caleb Williams continues to get better each week. That said, things won’t be as easy as they were last week against the Panthers. It will take complementary football to get a hard-earned win, lifting the Bears to 4-2 going into the bye week.

Nicholas Moreano (4-1) | Bears 24, Jaguars 13

The Chicago Bears have approached this Week 6 matchup against the Jaguars in London the right way. The team arrived on Tuesday morning and has been adapting to the six-hour time difference. Just from talking to the players, they look refreshed and adjusted. I see Caleb Williams having another clean game, protecting the football while hunting for explosive plays. Trevor Lawrence had a big day against Indianapolis last week, but the Bears’ defense, despite missing Jaquan Brisker, should keep Jacksonville under control.

Mark Carman (5-0) | Bears 30, Jaguars 21

The Bears landed in London on Tuesday. The Jaguars showed up on Friday. The Jaguars are the worst team in the NFL stopping the pass. Nearly-retired Joe Flacco just threw for 359 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Jags. Speaking of 3, the Bears are going for 3 straight wins for the first time in the Matt Eberflus era. Caleb Williams with a side of Jags jet lag gets the Bears there.

Greg Braggs Jr. (4-1) | Bears 27, Jaguars 19

I see this game being somewhat similar to the Rams game. At least defensively. I think that Trevor Lawrence and the Jags’ run game will be able to move the ball but the Bears’ defense has been perfecting the bend but don’t break philosophy. So as long as the Jags get more 3s than 7s. The Bears should be in good shape.

In terms of the Bears offense: Every week I’m excited to see more growth and development of Caleb Williams. What will the QB do this week?! It’s an exciting question to ask week to week as a Bears fan.

My only other hope is that I’m saying on Monday that I came to see London but left talking about Rome. Looking for 15 to have a big game!

Patrick Norton (2-3) | Bears 27, Jaguars 19

Something tells me it won’t be as crisp of a day as we’ve come to expect from the Bears’ defense. However, they’ll still keep Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars under the magic number: 21. Chicago has held opponents under 21 points for 11 consecutive games. The franchise hasn’t won a game allowing more than 21 since Week 3 against the Falcons … in 2020.

Caleb Williams might not put up another 300 yards through the air this week, but I think we’ll finally see the No. 1 pick and No. 9 pick Rome Odunze connect for six points.

Kevin Kaduk (4-1) | Bears 20, Jaguars 19

The secondary depth is a concern, but my faith in Flus to construct a good gameplan is high.  Getting to London earlier than the Jags will pay off late in an international thriller.
