INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — It's been 34 days since Ryan Poles introduced Ben Johnson as the 19th head coach of the Chicago Bears at Halas Hall.
When the grueling coaching search began, Ryan Poles sounded humbled by the cataclysmic aftermath of the past decisions that had led him to that point. After all, the general manager had fired his first head coaching hire during the season and endured the second 10-game losing streak of his three-season tenure.
That's why it wasn't a surprise to hear Poles somewhat relaxed and relieved when it came time to introduce Johnson and wrap a bow on the process. He had gotten his guy, and while there was plenty of work ahead, this was a win for the general manager...
