Caleb Williams is going to sleep well tonight. So will Ben Johnson and Bears fans everywhere. The “Iceman” came back with what Tom Brady called his best performance to date. It was impressive from the jump.
Kyler Gordon also returned and was dominant in the Bears’ 31-23 win over the Falcons. Incredibly quick off the ball for three key sacks. The Falcons never could figure out how to contain the now-healthy Gordon.
Daniel Hardy had himself a day at defensive end, hitting the quarterback twice and getting his first career sack.
Montez Sweat and Dayo Odeyingbo, who? Opportunity came, and the Bears that were healthy enough to play took advantage, giving the defense a much-needed boost.
On to the grades.
Quarterback: A
Tom Brady called in the best performance that he has ever seen from Caleb Williams. I am not one to argue with Brady. Williams was locked in from the get-go on his way to a dominant 30-for-36 performance, completing passes to eight different Bears for 305 yards. Williams was over 300 yards twice last season, once in the regular season against San Francisco and once in the playoffs against Green Bay.
