The Chicago Blackhawks didn’t expect to make their home debut already 0-3-0. They didn’t anticipate being outscored 15-5 in the three-game road trip, either.
Now, the team has returned home with a chance to right their wrongs against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night.
That began Monday at the Blackhawks Ice Center, and it included some good news.
Connor Bedard within “three-week window” of returning
The honorable Judge Eli Smails put it best: “Well…we’re waiting.”
Originally given a four-month recovery timeline, Connor Bedard is still working out on his own before Blackhawks practices. He was again working with coaches Chris Kunitz and Brian Keane and EBUG Caydon Edwards on Monday morning, looking as if he was at full-speed skating and full-power shooting.
What was different on Monday morning was Bedard sticking on the ice with the team as the 11:00 a.m. practice began. He was in a non-contact sweater, unsurprisingly, but this is a new development in his rehab and recovery process. Bedard took a few line rushes on the right wing with Anton Frondell and Tyler Bertuzzi.
