We’re two days into Blackhawks training camp, with the first preseason game coming Saturday night in Minnesota. While there isn’t a large sample size of on-ice activity just yet, here are some (not all) of the Blackhawks players that have stood out at camp so far.

Nick Lardis

Lardis, who played 41 games with the Blackhawks last season, played at a 20-goal pace for the year. Coming into the 2026-27 season, one of the questions was whether or not her could maintain that pace as a sophomore, or if his 17.5 percent shooting percentage was unsustainable.

While that question is yet to be answered, Lardis might top my list of most impressive Blackhawks at camp. He looks bigger. He looks faster. He looks more confident. He’s also getting a big opportunity to start camp and likely the season, as he’s been lined up with Anton Frondell and Tyler Bertuzzi on the second line.

“He looks stronger. Probably more confident,” Jeff Blashill said. “He’s had a good couple of days.”
