When the Cubs put together a comeback in the bottom of the eighth inning Saturday afternoon to take a lead, the question became: Who gets the call to nail down the save in the ninth?

Former closer Jacob Webb had already worked earlier in the game, getting out of a jam in the sixth inning and then tossing a clean seventh.

Webb has also struggled in the closer’s role lately, blowing three saves in the last couple weeks.

Ryan Rolison — who pitched the eighth inning — began the ninth and gave up a single before getting a pair of flyouts.

Then Craig Counsell emerged from the third base dugout, calling for right-hander Ryan Zeferjahn to finish the job.

Six pitches later, Zeferjahn had his sixth save of the season — and his second in a Cubs uniform — when he struck out Pirates star Bryan Reynolds.
