LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Bears running back Roschon Johnson carried the ball in Ben Johnson’s offense just twice during the regular season last year.
Johnson only appeared in seven games when a thumb injury ended his season in November. When the dust settled on his third NFL season, he’d played just four offensive snaps and 102 on special teams.
Those 102 special-teams snaps resulted in seven tackles and one kick return for 22 yards. It wasn’t close to how Johnson envisioned his season would play out offensively but he adjusted accordingly.
