Well said! I grew up in The Region and moved to Chicago after college. It’s always been wild to me to see how many folks think of NWI as another planet as opposed to another part of Chicagoland that happens to sit on the other side of an imaginary line. It’s closer to downtown than many of the IL suburbs and every bit as connected to the city center.

Would it be disappointing if the Bears moved to Hammond? Absolutely. But it’d be every bit as disappointing if they headed off to Arlington Heights. That’s the part that irks me about the IN outrage here… folks should be pissed about any stadium location that isn’t inside city limits.

It’s pretty simple for me. If it’s a better deal for the team, go for it. The choice is really what it always was. It’s a business decision. The Bears should choose whatever location is better for their bottom line, both short and long term. As you know I’m not much of a tailgater anymore, but I can assure you I’d attend one on your driveway.
