MINNEAPOLIS -- When Doug Kramer's number was called to enter the game, he did just that and went straight into the Bears' huddle. The backup offensive lineman lined up in the backfield on first-and-goal from the 4-yard line and helped clear a path for D'Andre Swift for the Bears' first points.
There was a bit of pause -- as if something was wrong. Kramer, who wears No. 68, needed to report eligible to the official. It's a requirement for players numbers 50 through 79 or 90 through 99 because the defense needs an opportunity to match personnel and doing so ensures fairness.
