The Rockford IceHogs had another up-and-down week, losing two of their games. Andreas Athanasiou made his team debut during Wednesday’s “School Day” game at the Grand Rapids Griffins. He scored just 28 seconds into the game for his first AHL goal since the 2015-16 season with Grand Rapids. He added another goal in the second period, but that was the only offense in a 5-2 loss.
The IceHogs snapped their four-game losing streak by beating the Manitoba Moose on Friday night. Cole Guttman and Gerry Mayhew scored four minutes apart in the third period to complete the comeback 3-2 victory.
