The Chicago Blackhawks had a chance to win three games in a row for the first time since Feb. 23, 2023. However, the Detroit Red Wings had other intentions at the United Center as they downed the home team 4-1.
The first period looked like it would expire with no goals until Alex DeBrincat took advantage of a defensive breakdown and scored with 1.5 seconds left in the first period. Captain Nick Foligno tied the game midway through the second period after a great cross-ice feed from Tyler Bertuzzi.
