What’s up, Sox fans?
It never seemed the Chicago White Sox were likely to pull off another stunner and once again bring a modern managerial legend out of retirement for the second time in a half decade. So this isn’t about them “missing” on Terry Francona.
But Francona’s return to the majors – he’s going back to Ohio to manage the Reds – has, at least from the outside, done something to shake up the search for the next South Side skipper. At the very least, there’s one fewer opening out there. With the playoffs still going on, only the White Sox and Marlins are on the hunt for a new manager.
