There have been plenty of “Twilight Zone” moments during this truly terrifying Chicago White Sox season.
But if ever there was a “guy wants to be the only person on Earth so he can read books by himself but then his glasses break” scenario for White Sox fans, it’s this: Andrew Benintendi could end up leading the team in home runs.
That’s not a knock on Benintendi, whose walk-off dinger off the foul pole Saturday night gave him 17 on the year, tied with Andrew Vaughn and one shy of the 18 that Paul DeJong hit with the White Sox before being traded to the Royals in July.
