CHGO Staff Predictions: Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings

Kevin Kaduk Avatar
October 7, 2022

After a dispiriting performance in New York, there aren’t a lot of reasons for hope as the Chicago Bears head north to face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Can they prove our panel wrong?

Will DeWitt (2-2) — Vikings 24, Bears 21

The Vikings have been finding ways to win games with two comebacks in a row, where the Bears are fresh off a game that they couldn’t win despite multiple chances. Justin Jefferson poses the biggest challenge yet for the Bears’ secondary, and will be too much to handle. However, I have a sneaky suspicion it will be a closer game than most think. Unfortunately, the Bears will be on the wrong side of it.

Mark Carman (2-2) — Vikings 27, Bears 20

The Bears offense takes another step forward — a slightly bigger one — getting into the end zone twice but they also give one back on a costly turnover and have trouble containing both Justin Jefferson and Dalvin Cook even though they get to Kirk Cousins and force one interception of their own.

Greg Braggs, Jr. (2-2) — Vikings 28, Bears 13

I never thought the Bears offense would be THIS bad. Whitehair out now. A shuffling on the Offensive Line. My expectations have plummeted. I picked them to win seven games before the year. They’ll be lucky to win six at this point.

Adam Hoge (1-3) — Vikings 31, Bears 17

If the Bears are able to win this game it will be because they steal a bunch of takeaways and maybe even score on special teams. Realistically, it’s going to be hard to stop both Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson. And we’ve already seen that the offense isn’t capable of scoring touchdowns consistently.

Nicholas Moreano (1-3) — Vikings 27, Bears 23

The Bears’ defense has given up 733 yards rushing this season, the worst in the league. This week they face a Vikings offense that is more than capable of gaining yards on the ground with Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison. Oh, and don’t forget about Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen through the air. This is a tough matchup for a Bears team that is still trying to figure out and work through all of its issues on defense and, of course, in the passing game.

Carmen Vitali (3-1) — Vikings 37, Bears 13

There’s nothing to suggest things will go the Bears’ way on Sunday. Even if they double-team Jefferson, Adam Thielen is there. So is running back Dalvin Cook. Their best bet is to try and get to quarterback Kirk Cousins, but he’s hiding behind an offensive line giving up the sixth-lowest sack rate in the league.

Corey Wootton (3-1) — Vikings 34, Bears 17

After four weeks of not stopping the run, the same trend will continue. The Vikings play well at home. Justin Jefferson and Dalvin Cook have monster games against a struggling bears Defense.

Kevin Kaduk (3-1) — Vikings 35, Bears 13

The Bears have the advantage of playing a team who might be overlooking them as they hustle back from London. The Vikings have … everything other advantage. I don’t think this one will be pretty, let’s just hope they can stay relatively healthy for the short turnaround to Washington next Thursday.

Jake Flannigan (2-2)  â€”  Vikings 27, Bears 17

Will the offense ever come to life? Until it does, it will be nearly impossible to win against quality opponents.
