The Cubs kicked off their five game series vs the Cardinals on Monday Night, with Drew Smyly on the mound. Smyly was more than solid, allowing only 1 earned run in 7 innings pitched. However, the Cubs offense failed to get going and the Cardinals won 1-0 off of a solo homer from Albert Pujols.
