The upcoming week was not the most eventful in Chicago Blackhawks franchise history. However, they signed two future Hall of Famers while a slew of players are celebrating birthdays.

June 30

1983 – Karl Stewart was born in Aurora, ON. The Blackhawks claimed the left wing off waivers from the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2006. After two goals and five points in 37 games, he was traded with a sixth-round draft pick to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Nikita Alexeev. The former eighth overall pick in 2000 played just 15 games for the Blackhawks before returning to Russia in 2007.

2013 – The New Jersey Devils hosted the NHL Entry Draft. The Blackhawks used the 30^th overall pick to select forward Ryan Hartman. Other notable picks from this draft class included Carl Dahlstrom (51^st overall), John Hayden (74^th), Tyler Motte (121^st overall), Luke Johnson (134^th overall), and Anthony Louis (181^st overall).

July 1

1920 – Les Ramsay was born in Verdun, QC. He had two goals and four points in the only 11 games of his NHL career during the 1944-45 season.

1967 – Center Mike Eastwood was born in Ottawa, ON. The Blackhawks claimed him off waivers from the St. Louis Blues in 2002. He had a pair of goals and 12 points in his 53 games in Chicago. The following summer, he signed with the Penguins for the 13^th and final season of his career.

1986 – Adam Berti was born in Scarborough, ON. The Blackhawks selected him in the third round (68^th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He played in only two NHL games during the 2007-08 season and did not find the scoresheet.

2009 – The Blackhawks made the greatest free-agent signing in franchise history when they inked Marian Hossa to a 12-year, $63.3 million deal. The Hall of Famer scored 186 goals and 415 points in 534 games and helped the team win Stanley Cups in 2010, 2013, and 2015.

July 2

1933 – Kenny Wharram was born in North Bay, ON. He was acquired in 1958 from the Buffalo Bisons of the AHL for Wally Hergesheimer and Frank Martin. The forward played 766 games for the Blackhawks and scored 252 goals and 533 points. The two-time All-Star was part of the 1961 Stanley Cup championship and won the Lady Bing Trophy in 1964.

Wharram was part of the famous “Scooter Line” with Stan Mikita. The original line was formed with Ted Lindsay, who was replaced by Ab McDonald after he retired. Doug Mohns was the final left wing of this trio after McDonald was traded to the Boston Bruins.

1954 – Defenseman Dave Logan was born in Montreal, QC. The Blackhawks selected him in the fifth round (88^th overall) of the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft. He played 178 games over five seasons before being traded in 1979 with Harold Phillipoff to the Vancouver Canucks for Ron Sedlbauer.

1975 – Calgary Flames assistant coach Ryan Huska was born in Cranbrook, BC. He was a third-round pick (76^th overall) in 1993. His one and only NHL game came with the Blackhawks during the 1997-98 season.

1975 – Eric Daze was born in Montreal, QC. The Blackhawks got tremendous value from the fourth-round pick (90^th overall) in 1993. This pick was originally acquired from the Buffalo Sabres in the Dominik Hasek trade. He played 601 games, scoring 226 goals and 398 points. Daze was often the topic of debate as he was built like a power forward but did not have the physical aspect to his game many hoped for. His career was cut short due to a series of severe back injuries as he played his final game at the age of 30.

1995 – Dominik Kahun was born in Plana, Czech Republic. He had 13 goals and 37 points during the 2018-19 season, his first in the NHL. The following summer, he was traded to the Penguins with a fifth-round pick for defenseman Olli Maatta.

July 3

1912 – Cully Dahlstrom was born in Minneapolis, MN. The center played his entire career with the Blackhawks, scoring 88 goals and 206 points over eight seasons. He won the Calder Trophy in 1938, the same year the Blackhawks won its second Stanley Cup in franchise history.

1973 – Adrian Aucoin was born in Ottawa, ON. The Blackhawks signed the veteran defenseman in 2005. He served as team captain, along with Martin Lapointe, for two seasons. He played 92 games in Chicago and scored five goals and 22 points. In 2007, he was traded to the Flames with a seventh-round draft pick for Steve Marr and Andrei Zyuzin.

1990 – Center Dennis Rasmussen was born in Vasteras, Sweden. The Blackhawks signed him in 2014, and he scored eight goals and 17 points in 112 games before signing with the Anaheim Ducks in 2017. He returned to Europe after being released by the Ducks in 2018.

1997 – Bob Pulford announced his retirement as general manager after 20 years with the team. The Blackhawks named Bob Murray as his replacement. Retirement did not suit Pulford well, as he returned for two more stints as general manager before stepping down for good in 2005.

1998 – Murray signed free agent Doug Gilmour. The future Hall of Famer scored 38 goals and 112 points in his 135 games. He took over as captain after Chris Chelios was traded to the Detroit Red Wings in 1999. He was dealt to the Sabres with J.P. Dumont, in 2000, for Michael Grosek.

July 4

1900 – Vic Desjardins was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. He played 39 games for the Blackhawks during the 1930-31 season, scoring three goals and 15 points. The following offseason, he was traded with Art Somers to the New York Rangers for Paul Thompson.

1940 – Defenseman Pat Stapleton was born in Sarina, ON. The Blackhawks lost Stapleton to the Bruins at the 1961 Intra-League Draft but claimed him back from the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1965 Intra-League Draft. He played 545 games for the Blackhawks over eight seasons before jumping to the World Hockey Association (WHA) in 1973. In 1968-69, he picked up 50 assists, an NHL record for defensemen, until Bobby Orr later shattered it. Stapleton was also a member of the Team Canada for the famous Summit Series versus the Soviet Union in 1972. His son Mike played 14 seasons in the NHL, including five in Chicago.

July 5

1933 – Ron Ingram was born in Toronto, ON. The blueliner played 45 games for the Blackhawks during the 1956-57 season before being traded to the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League (AHL) for Ian Cushenan.

1957 – Hall of Fame defenseman Doug Wilson was born in Ottawa, ON. The Blackhawks used the sixth overall pick of the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft to select him. The three-time All-Star won the Norris Trophy in 1982. He scored 225 goals and 779 points in 938 games over 14 seasons. In 1991, he was traded to the San Jose Sharks for a second-round draft pick.

1973 – Michal Sykora was born in Pardubice, Czechoslovakia. He was acquired from the Sharks in 1997 with Ulf Dahlun and Chris Terreri in the trade that sent Ed Belfour to San Jose. He had two goals and 14 points in 56 games for the Blackhawks before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a fourth-round pick.

1997 – Lucas Carlsson was born in Gavle, Sweden. The fourth-round pick (110^th overall) in 2016 played 18 games over two seasons for the Blackhawks. In 2021, he was traded to the Florida Panthers with Lucas Wallmark for Henrik Borgström, Brett Connolly, a seventh-round draft pick, and Riley Stillman. The draft pick was used to select forward Jalen Luypen.

July 6

1974 – Steve Sullivan was born in Timmins, ON. The Blackhawks claimed the winger off waivers from the Maple Leafs in 1999. He became one of the top offensive players in Chicago with 118 goals and 303 points in 370 games. He was traded to the Nashville Predators in 2004 for a pair of second-round draft picks.

1982 – Christian Ehrhoff was born in Moers, Germany. He was acquired in 2016 from Los Angeles Kings for Rob Scuderi. He played the final eight games of his 12-season NHL career with the Blackhawks, picking up two assists.

1991 – Klas Dahlbeck was born in Katrineholm, Sweden. The Blackhawks drafted the defenseman in the third round (79^th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He had one goal in four games before being traded with a first-round draft pick to the Arizona Coyotes at the 2015 trade deadline for center Antoine Vermette.
