Jeremiah Attaochu failed to make much of an impact in his first season with the Chicago Bears only compiling two total tackles on 129 snaps on defense before being placed on injured reserve for a torn pec in October.

Best Game of 2021

Attaochu didn’t make his mark last season. If you’re looking for his “best” game, that would be in Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns when he notched his lone solo tackle of the season.

Biggest Question

Does Jeremiah Attaochu have a chance at making the roster?

Attaochu has had an up and down career. He never lived up to his second-round draft status with the Chargers, only compiling 10 sacks in four seasons. Attaochu then went to New York as a member of the Jets in 2018 and only had nine tackles and two sacks.

He then signed with the Chiefs in April 2019, where he crossed paths with Bears general manager Ryan Poles, before being cut in September. Failing to make Kansas City’s final roster, Attaochu went to Denver where he found success with 8.5 sacks in two seasons before signing with the Bears last offseason.

He will also need to transition to a hand-in-dirt rusher, which he hasn’t done since his time with the Chargers. Coming off a torn pec, and the Bears having viable options at defensive end in Robert Quinn Trevis Gipson, Al-Quadin Muhammad and drafting rookie Dominique Robinson in the fifth round, Attaochu has an uphill battle in front of him.

2022 Outlook

Attaochu was already cut once by a front office that Ryan Poles was a part of. Being a 29-year-old that had minimal production, is coming off a major injury, and needs to transition from OLB to DE, it just doesn’t seem likely for him to make the team.

The Bears most likely will retain their free-agent pickup, Muhammad, and aim to develop the raw Robinson instead.

Prediction: Attaochu fails to make the final 53-man roster.
